Teaching Philosophy
Ever wonder why improvement feels out of reach, or why advice doesn’t seem to work? It’s often because golfers are taught to fit a single mold or model. James believes there is no single “correct” way to swing a golf club. Each player has a unique swing based on what their body allows them to do—not what a tour professional does.
By using advanced technology including V1 video analysis, BODITRAK pressure mats, K-Vest, and FlightScope launch monitors, James helps golfers—from beginners to elite players—develop a repeatable, efficient motion. No two students swing the same, which is why their success shows up on the course, not just on the range.
James focuses not only on making golfers swing better in practice, but on transferring those improvements to real play. Lessons extend beyond the range and onto the course, ensuring students don’t just improve technically—but score better where it matters most.

Forrest Hamlin is a veteran Teaching Professional with more than 25 years as a member of the PGA of America and is currently in his 15th season at Harbor Links Golf Course. His extensive career includes serving as the First Assistant Professional at The Cedarbrook Club, where he developed a strong foundation in instruction, player development, and club operations.
Forrest is a Titleist Certified FittingWorks fitter and a Certified U.S. Kids Golf Instructor, bringing both technical expertise and a player-centered approach to golfers of all ages and ability levels. His experience and longevity in the game allow him to simplify complex concepts and help students build consistent, repeatable swings.
Teaching Philosophy
While there are many theories on how to swing a golf club, Forrest believes the most effective approach is to swing the club according to its design. A key element of that design is the club’s lie angle, which establishes the proper swing plane and dictates the arc of the clubhead.
When a student swings on the correct plane, the clubhead moves naturally through the ball and turf, producing improved trajectory, accuracy, and distance. Forrest’s instruction focuses on aligning the golfer’s motion with the club’s design to create efficient, reliable ball striking.
